Bio

I am a writer, mother and teacher. My creative practice explores belonging, contested histories and legacies of empire. My writing is used in the School of Global Studies and on the interdisciplinary Liberal Arts BA at the University of Sussex and I have run creative workshops for young people and adults in Brighton, where I am also involved in anti-racist education.

My writing is supported by Arts Council England, Writing Our Legacy, New Writing South and Brighton Dome, and has been published online by WritersMosaic (2023) and in the anthology Hidden Sussex: a new anthology for Sussex (2019). It forms part of site-responsive productions including Witness Stand: The Chattri for Brighton Festival 2022. From 24 June 2023 it will be accessible on a listening post on Seaford Head as part of the English Coastal Path in South Downs National Park. I am a 2021 Fellow of New Writing South and live with my husband and two daughters in Brighton.
